Meet Blackhawk Measurements Team

Chuck spent 18 years in ministry serving as a church planter, associate pastor, and music director, developing a passion for service, mentorship, and community.

Chuck’s oil and gas career began through Claburn Meter Service, where from 1985 to 2000 he worked alongside his father, Charles Claburn Sr., and brother, Mike Claburn, providing gas measurement services throughout West Texas. Following the company’s sale to JW Operating on May 1, 1999, Chuck continued with the organization as West Texas Area Manager, serving in that leadership role until his retirement in 2010.

In 2012, Chuck returned to the industry to assist Fleaux Service with establishing its Midland, Texas office, contributing his measurement expertise and operational knowledge until 2017. He later founded Blackhawk Measurement Consulting LLC, where he continues to share his extensive experience supporting oil, gas, and water measurement and manufacturing initiatives.

Outside of work, Chuck enjoys fishing and values time with his family.

After earning his degree in 1984, Kevin spent the next four years obtaining hands-on skills in multiple positions, including compressor mechanic, millwright machinist, dump-truck operator, and serving as a labor foreman.

His career took off when he joined Chevron in 1988 as a roustabout in the North Ward Estes Field in Wickett, Texas. He spent the next decade achieving increased levels of responsibility before being transferred to the McElroy Field Management Team (FMT) as a Field Specialist (FS) in July of 1999, where he was soon assigned as FS Lead. In October 2002, he was promoted to Electronic Instrumentation Specialist, where he continued to learn and hone his skills in automation.

In 2008, Kevin moved to Midland, Texas, to join the Facilities Engineering Group as an Automation Analyst. He began in Asset Development but soon found his passion working Brownstone Projects in the Automation Support Group and mentoring new engineers and automation analysts.

In November 2015, after a 27 ½ year career, Kevin made the difficult decision to retire from Chevron to pursue further leadership and mentoring opportunities. He spent the following year and a half working for Navigator Energy Services as Instrument & Electrical (I&E) Manager, directing and advising a multifunctional automation team and providing management, design, and automation support for their field and truck stations. This role helped prepare him for a seamless transition to the Blackhawk Measurement Consulting Team in June of 2017, where he now serves as Vice President and owner.

In his spare time, Kevin enjoys fishing and relaxing at the lake, but more than anything he loves spending time with family. This includes Chasity, his wife of 31 years; daughter Bailee and son-in-law Chris; daughter Foster; and grandchildren, Myles and Henley (who he is still just trying to keep up with).
