How to Use Beta Ratio Calculator
Measure Your Orifice Plate Bore
Enter the hole diameter of your orifice plate in inches. This is typically found on the plate, but you should verify.
Enter Your Pipe ID
Find the inside diameter of your pipe. Typically the pipe ID is stamped on the meter run. For Schedule 40: 2"=2.067", 3"=3.068", 4"=4.026", 6"=6.065", 8"=7.981", 10"=10.020".
Click Calculate
The calculator instantly shows your beta ratio and tells you which compliance zone it falls into.
Review Your Zone
Green = optimal, Yellow = acceptable but not ideal, Red = not compliant. Aim for the green zone.
